The Mural Process
From Concept To Completion.
Handcrafted High Quality Murals.
Set It Off
Every mural starts with a vision, and ends as a signature piece of fine art. As an experienced muralist for high end homes and commercial spaces, I create projects each year that provide wow factor to spaces so that each client receives aesthetically pleasing works with quality finishes. What follows is my five stage mural process, designed to ensure your custom mural is not only breathtaking but built to last.
THE MURAL PROCESS
BESPOKE GRAFFITI ARTIST AUSTRALIA
01. Initial Consultation
We begin with a phone conversation, in person, or virtual meeting where you share your vision, inspiration images, preferred colour palettes, and the intended location. Together, we discuss scale, style, theme (whether it’s trompe-l’oeil, abstract, or custom branding) and budget. By the end of this initial consultation, I’ll have a clear sense of your goals and your space’s unique requirements.

02. Concept & Design Development
We move into the draft phase with an in person or virtual meeting to gather your inspiration images, preferred colour palettes, and details about the intended location. From there, I translate your vision into a concept sketch and present a draft proposal tailored to your needs. Complete with creative recommendations and refinements, so you can see a rough example of how the final mural will look before we begin.

03. Surface Preparation & Materials Selection
A truly lasting mural requires a flawless foundation. I inspect and prepare your wall if required. This might include sanding, priming or repairing cracks. So I know the paint will adhere correctly to the manufacturers specifications. Meanwhile, I select only top quality primers and artist quality acrylics and spray paints (or specialty outdoor coatings, if it’s an exterior mural). This ensures vibrant colour retention and decades of durability. The colours are selected base on experience which would be surprising to most.

04. Painting & Mural Installation Process
Once the wall is prepped and primed I begin the mural installation process. I lay down broad base coats to establish colour fields. Then I build up layers of detail, shading, highlights and textures. Using professional acrylics and spray paint. Throughout the install I regularly step back for distance checks, ensuring the composition reads perfectly at scale. Finally, I work the fine lines in and sign off each section before moving to the next, delivering a seamless gallery quality mural.

05. Finishing Touches & Maintenance Guidance
Once dry, I apply a protective varnish or clear coat (UV resistant for exteriors) to lock in colour and prevent fading. I photograph the completed work from multiple angles and share high resolution images with you. Before I leave, I walk you through recommended maintenance, simple dusting, touch up options, and when to reseal if required. To ensure your luxury mural remains showroom perfect for decades.
